How Nissan leases work: SignatureFLEX, extra miles, and lease-end fees
What NMAC publishes about SignatureFLEX terms, buying extra miles, the disposition fee and loyalty waivers, and buyout rules, and which figures you still have to get from your contract.
By LeaseGuru.aiUpdated 4 min read
Nissan and Infiniti leases are written by Nissan Motor Acceptance Company (NMAC), legally Nissan Motor Acceptance Company LLC. Nissan publishes SignatureFLEX, which lets you raise your mileage allowance during the lease.
NMAC also publishes a disposition fee, a loyalty waiver, and a buyout rule with an EV exclusion. It does not publish an acquisition fee, a deposit program, late-fee terms, or a transfer policy on the pages we track, so those have to come from your worksheet and contract.
Facts below come from nissanusa.com as recorded in LeaseGuru's by-brand guides. Monthly offers change, so check them against your own contract.
TLDR Quick Guide
- SignatureFLEX terms run 18 to 60 months, and Nissan positions leasing for drivers under 15,000 miles a year.
- You can raise your allowance for $0.10 a mile, in the vehicle app or at NissanFinance.com, up to 30 days before maturity.
- Disposition fee is up to $395; the Nissan Owner Loyalty Offer waives it plus up to $500 of excess wear, which Nissan.com frames as up to $895 in fees.
- At lease end you may buy at the predetermined purchase-option price plus incidental charges; Nissan says end-of-lease options exclude EVs.
- Return overage is recorded at $0.25 a mile for Nissan and Infiniti in our brand comparison.
SignatureFLEX and Nissan's mileage options
Nissan.com positions leasing for people who drive fewer than 15,000 miles a year and lists SignatureFLEX terms of 18 to 60 months. SignatureFLEX lets you increase your mileage allowance for $0.10 per mile, either in the vehicle app or at NissanFinance.com, up to 30 days before maturity.
That $0.10 is lower than the $0.25 a mile return overage recorded for Nissan in LeaseGuru's brand comparison. Your contract's rate governs.
Disposition fee and the loyalty waiver
NMAC publishes a disposition fee of up to $395. It is waived if you finance or lease a new, unused, unregistered Nissan through NMAC within 30 days of returning your current one. Under the same Nissan Owner Loyalty Offer, NMAC also waives up to $500 of excess wear, and Nissan.com says that is up to $895 in fees saved.
Buying out a Nissan lease
Nissan.com's end-of-lease page says you may buy at the predetermined purchase-option price in your contract, plus incidental charges in the contract: tax, registration, and a purchase-option fee if the contract names one. Nissan also says its end-of-lease options exclude EVs, so an electric Nissan is the case to check in your contract. Nissan does not state whether a third-party dealer can pay off the lease.
What NMAC does not publish
The pages we track do not state a figure for the following, so they have to come from your contract or worksheet.
- Acquisition fee: not published. Get it from your contract or worksheet.
- Multiple security deposits: not published as a program.
- Late fees and grace period: not published.
- Lease transfer: not published.
